Marnie Piuze was born in Toronto, Canada and grew up on the East coast. She has loved nature all her life, feeling energized by connecting with the outdoors. When her youngest child left for college in 2001, she decided to pursue a lifelong desire to paint.

After spending many years hiking the Santa Monica Mountains and enjoying the Malibu beaches, it was natural for her to paint these scenes. She joined the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains & Seashore which supports conservation efforts in the area.

Marnie is self-taught and continues to develop her skills, continually learning from other artists and from the challenge of painting plein air. She enjoys each opportunity to try to express on canvas the incredible and ever changing beauty of creation. In her paintings she conveys the peace and pleasure she feels while exploring variations of light and color.

Marnie is a Board member of the Allied Artists
(www.allied-artists.com) and a member of the Malibu Art Association and the California Art Club. She exhibits at various venues in the area.
